Patrick KANE (KAYN, PAT-rihk) Chicago Blackhawks
Right wing. Shoots left. 5'10'', 163 lbs. Born, Buffalo, NY, November 19, 1988.
Chicago's 1st choice, 1st overall, in 2007 Entry Draft.
2007-08 Statistics as of Jan. 24/08: 50 GP – 12 G – 33 A – 45 Pts. – 36 PIM
Kane scored the only goal on Detroit's Dominik Hasek in his first-ever NHL shootout attempt on the Blackhawks' home opener Oct. 6.

Kane grew up five miles from HSBC Arena in Buffalo and his name is written on a steel beam in the rafters of the arena.

Wayne Gretzky on Kane and his teammate Jonathan Toews: "They love to play and they love to compete. You can't replace passion for the game. You watch Toews and Kane play, they're fun to watch."

Kane produced one of the finest NHL debuts in recent years, capturing the League's Rookie of the Month award for October after tallying 16 points – the most by an NHL rookie in October since 1992-93. He continues to lead the League rookie scoring race with 43 points (11 goals, 32 assists) in 46 games through games of Jan. 16.

Kane lived with former NHL'er Pat Verbeek in Detroit while playing in the U.S. National Development Team program.
