Ryan GETZLAF (GEHTZ-laf, RIGH-uhn) Anaheim Ducks
On playing against top checking lines: "This year created a challenge. It's a matter of we lost (Teemu) Selanne and (Dustin) Penner, and quite a bit of scoring in our lineup. It was an opportunity for young guys like (Corey) Perry and myself and a few other guys to step into those roles and contribute more offensively and play that number one line."

On being named a 2008 All-Star: "It's a real exciting opportunity for me and I consider it an honor being selected. I've looked up to a lot of the players that I'll be playing with and against in the game. It'll give me a chance to talk to them about the different experiences they have been through. I hadn't made any plans for that day, so I'll be there."

On success early in his career: "I've only been in this League a few years, so I really feel blessed and fortunate to have this chance. You learn not to take anything for granted. There was some pressure entering the League as a first-round pick, but when you're given the opportunity to play with such great players, it makes it a little easier. When I arrived, the players here welcomed me with open arms and that's something that made my transition a lot easier."
