Rick NASH (NASH, RIHK) Columbus Blue Jackets
Left wing. Shoots left. 6'4'', 215 lbs. Born, Brampton, Ont., June 16, 1984.
Columbus' 1st choice, 1st overall, in 2002 Entry Draft.
2007-08 Statistics as of Jan. 24/08: 49 GP – 26 G – 17 A – 43 Pts. – 65 PIM
Nash led the Blue Jackets in goals for the third consecutive season in 2006-07, tallying 27-30–57 in 75 games, and led the club in power-play goals (nine), game-winning goals (five), shots (228), and ranked second in assists and points. He set a single-season high in assists and tied his career high in points.

In 2005-06, Nash tallied 31 goals in 51 games following his return from ankle and knee injuries that had forced him to miss 28 of the first 31 games. He became the first player since 2000-01 (Mario Lemieux, 35 goals in 43 games) to record 30 goals in a season when playing in fewer than 60 games.

In 2003-04, Nash tallied 41 goals, becoming the youngest player in League history to earn at least a share of the goal-scoring title. At 19 years, 10 months, Nash was 14 months younger than 21-year-old Wayne Gretzky in 1981-82 and was the first teenager to reach the 40-goal mark since the Los Angeles Kings' Jimmy Carson in 1987-88.

Nash captured MVP honors at the 2007 World Hockey Championships in Moscow after leading Canada to its 24th gold medal in the event. He scored two goals to lead Canada to a 4-2 win over Finland in the tournament final. Nash registered 11 points (six goals, five assists) and a +8 rating in nine games. In 2005, he helped Canada win the silver medal as he tallied 9-6–15 and a +7 rating in nine games and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
