Islanders head coach Ted Nolan: "People have to just watch our team play one time and they'll know that Rick is an All-Star. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't be in a lot of games ... Rick does it all for us. Not only is he our number one goaltender, he's a leader in the room. He competes hard and loves the game. Rick is energetic and athletic. He's everything you want from an All-Star ... I don't know anybody else more deserving (to be an All-Star). We wouldn't be in a position we're in right now if it wasn't for the play of Ricky. Now the rest of the hockey world will see how important he is to our club and how talented he really is."
