On being selected as a 2008 All-Star: "It's not a time right now to be happy for personal rewards because our team is nowhere near where we want to be. Am I happy I'm in it? Absolutely. I wish it could be in different circumstances. There's a lot more important stuff going on with this team than a couple guys going to the All-Star Game."
On his four and half year old son, Ryan, being old enough to remember: "That's what I'm most happy about, for my kid to enjoy (the All-Star game)."
