Marian HOSSA (HOH-sa, MAIR-ee-uhn) Atlanta Thrashers
Atlanta Thrashers center Bobby Holik: "If he sprained his wrist and he couldn't shoot, he'd still be among the best forwards in the league with his defensive abilities."

Atlanta Thrashers forward Slava Kozlov: "'The Professor' is one of the smartest players I've played with. He sees the ice really well and doesn't have to use his speed or his quickness too much, because he is smart and can make the pass that gets you open."

New York Rangers forward Brendan Shanahan, comparing Hossa with Thrashers and Eastern Conference teammate Ilya Kovalchuk: "I think that Hossa's real good at disappearing and reappearing, whereas Kovalchuk is kind of noisy the moment he comes on the ice. You can't always stop [Kovalchuk], but you certainly see him coming. Hossa kind of blends in, then bursts out."

Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Dan Boyle: "He's just got everything. Some guys will be missing one aspect. They may be strong and have a good shot but may not be as fast. He seems to have everything. He's one of the fastest guys on the ice, got a great shot, can beat you with strength or speed. He's been a thorn in our side ever since he got to Atlanta."

Ottawa Senators and Eastern Conference head coach John Paddock: "We played them very early when (GM Don Waddell) took over (as coach) and the difference was (Ilya) Kovalchuk was happy and dominant. Playing Kovalchuk and Hossa together is about as dynamic a duo as there is in the league."
