After Calgary went 4-10-0 in the month of November, Iginla suggested he be moved onto a line with struggling Kristian Huselius and Daymond Langkow to see if he could help them generate more offense. In their first nine games together they combined for 22 goals and 20 assists – Calgary was 9-1-4 in the month of December.
Iginla became the longest-serving Calgary Flame on November 29, 2007, suiting up for his 804th game with the club and eclipsing the record set by Al MacInnis.
Iginla skated on a line with Joe Thornton and Brendan Shanahan for the North America All-Stars at his first All-Star Game in 2002 in Los Angeles.
At his first All-Star Game, he had a smile on his face the entire weekend. "It was great," he told reporters after the Game. "The whole weekend was a thrill. The best thing was getting to meet guys you compete against. I've watched so many All-Star Games (on television), I enjoyed playing in one."
The first hockey team that Iginla played for was the Remax Rangers Novice C team at the age of seven. His earliest hockey memory is of skating at tryouts without a sweater or socks for the first half of the game with his shin pads and shoulder pads exposed.
Iginla's favorite team growing up was the Edmonton Oilers and his favorite players were Oilers greats Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier and Grant Fuhr.
