Zetterberg set a new Red Wings record for consecutive games with a point to start a season. The previous franchise mark was set by Norm Ulman at 14 (1960-61). The 17-game streak to start the season ranks as the second-longest in the NHL since 1993-94.
At age 17, Zetterberg served in the Swedish Army for just 7 and 1/2 months, specializing in locating and conducting surveillance on the enemy. "I was the guy who goes out before everybody and tries to find out where the enemy is on the field."
