Henrik has played virtually his entire career with his twin brother, Daniel, including 10 international tournaments with Sweden dating back to 1997. They first played together in the NHL on October 5, 2000 against Philadelphia.
Henrik says that his two older brothers had the biggest influence on his career. "We always watched their practices," Henrik recalls.
The Canucks traded picks at the 1999 Entry Draft in order to select Daniel and Henrik Sedin second and third overall (behind Atlanta's first overall choice of Patrik Stefan). "No one was leaving with the twins but us," then Canucks General Manager Brian Burke said at the time after parting with defenseman Bryan McCabe to secure the picks.
Henrik set up his brother, Daniel, for his first NHL goal vs. Tampa Bay on October 8, 2000.
Henrik is older than Daniel by six hours.
