Ed JOVANOVSKI (joh-van-OHV-skee, EHD) Phoenix Coyotes
Defense. Shoots left. 6'2'', 210 lbs. Born, Windsor, Ont., June 26, 1976.
Florida's 1st choice, 1st overall, in 1994 Entry Draft.
2007-08 Statistics as of Jan. 24/08: 48 GP – 6 G – 27 A – 33 Pts. – 54 PIM
At his All-Star debut in 2001 in Colorado, Jovanovski was teamed with New York Rangers star defenseman Brian Leetch on the North America All-Stars that defeated the World All-Stars 14-12. The pair were a combined minus-11 and Leetch remarked after the game: "I kept looking over at Eddie and there was a pattern developing. One time Eddie jumped off before they scored and when I got back to the bench he was laughing," said the then captain of the Rangers.

Jovanovski's favorite team growing up was the Toronto Maple Leafs. His favorite player was Wayne Gretzky.

As a kid growing up in Windsor, Ontario, Jovanovski only played soccer. "My older brother Deni got me into hockey recreationally. And right away I had my dad sign me up for the Windsor Minor Travel League," he recalled.
