Duncan KEITH (KEETH, DUHN-kuhn) Chicago Blackhawks
ANOTHER STEP UP FOR BLACKHAWK
Neil Stevens writes in the Canadian Press, "Let's see, who would Duncan Keith like to be paired with on defence when he skates in the NHL's annual all-star game? Nicklas Lidstrom, Dion Phaneuf, Chris Pronger, Sergei Zubov or Ed Jovanovski? It doesn't matter to him...Keith will be the only first-timer among the Western Conference defensemen. He's definitely the least known, compared to the other five, by fans outside Chicago. Blackhawks fans know him well. He's been a horse."
OFF-SEASON DEDICATION SPARKS IN-SEASON SUCCESS FOR SEABROOK, KEITH
Marcie Garcia writes on NHL.com, "Brent Seabrook and Duncan Keith are regarded as cornerstones for the rapidly improving defense of the new Chicago Blackhawks. It almost sounds like a promising plotline of a movie: A comeback story about the long, cold winters of a legendary franchise finally triumphing in the big, bad Western Conference. It's still too early to tell how the movie will end, but with characters like Seabrook and Keith, a heroic ending could well be in the cards."
KEITH SURPRISED BY ALL-STAR SELECTION
Tim Sassone writes in the Chicago Daily Herald, "Duncan Keith couldn't figure out why he was being called into Blackhawks general manager Dale Tallon's office Thursday morning. As it turned out there was nothing for Keith to worry about. The news was good – great, actually, for him – as Tallon told Keith that he had been added to the Western Conference All-Star Team for the Jan. 27 NHL All-Star Game in Atlanta.
