Detroit GM Ken Holland: "I've got to believe you can put Chris Osgood's statistics up against anybody's. In my opinion, Chris deserves to play in the game. He's done everything he can to be an All-Star... he knows about the pressures and expectations of playing goal in Detroit. We've seen not every goalie can handle playing here."
Detroit captain Nicklas Lidstrom: "It's very impressive, his numbers. He doesn't seem to be out of position a whole lot, he's always square to the shooter. He doesn't give up any bad rebounds. You can see he's playing with confidence. I think that helps the whole team when you see a goalie like that."
Detroit teammate Kris Draper: "Even when he was getting limited action he was still a great guy to have in the dressing room, a positive influence and certainly somebody who didn't doubt his abilities."
