Chris OSGOOD (AWZ-gud, KRIHS) Detroit Red Wings
Goaltender. Catches left. 5'10', 176 lbs. Born, Peace River, Alta., November 26, 1972.
Detroit's 3rd choice, 54th overall, in 1991 Entry Draft.
2007-08 Statistics as of Jan. 24/08: 26 GP – 20 W – 3 L – 2 OT – 1507 Mins. – 47 GA – 3 SO – 1.87 Avg.
Osgood stopped 13 of 15 shots (Jaromir Jagr and Brendan Shanahan scored) in the second period for the Western Conference in his only All-Star appearance in 1996 at Boston.

In his All-Star Game debut in 1996, Osgood was the best goaltender in the rapid-fire relay at the Skills Competition with nine saves.

Also in his All-Star Game debut in 1996, Osgood's shiny black All-Star Game pants were too small, and he couldn't bend down to play. So he wore his Red Wings pants, which clashed with the purple Western Conference jerseys. "I told Felix (Potvin), this is the worst color combination here: red and purple," Osgood said after the game. "I knew I looked bad, looking at me in the glass."
